Hijamah, also known as cupping therapy, is an alternative medical practice that involves placing cups on the skin to create a svuction effect. During a Hijamah session, cups are placed on specific points on the body, often along the meridian lines used in traditional Chinese medicine or at areas of pain or tension.
The practitioner creates suction by either using a flame to remove air and create a vacuum in the cup before placing it on the skin, or by using a mechanical device.
